How to Get Started on Authura (Learner)

What You’ll Do
Get oriented on the Learner Dashboard, find your Courses and Playbooks, and understand where to view your progress or ask for help. You’ll also learn the two ways to access learning content so you can get started confidently.
Before You Start
You are signed in to your Authura learner account
You are on the learner Dashboard with the left navigation visible
Steps
Start on your Dashboard
This is your home base after you sign in. Use the search bar and quick-access buttons to find learning content, or use Authura’s built-in AI assistant when you need help as you learn.
The left navigation gives you access to Dashboard, Courses, Playbooks, Analytics, and Settings.

Complete your Profile Checklist
New accounts may show a Profile Checklist in Settings. Complete it early to finish setting up your profile and prevent profile-related features from remaining limited.
Learn the difference between a Course and a Playbook
A Course is the class your educator runs and organizes your learning. A Playbook contains the learning content and Quests you complete.

Choose how you’ll access your learning
When you are learning as part of a class, your educator sends you an invitation to join the Course. When you are learning independently, you can buy a Playbook from the Playbook library without an invitation.

Open your Playbook and start learning
Playbooks are made up of Quests, which are individual activities such as lessons, quizzes, reviews, and Minecraft-based Game Quests.
Open a Playbook to follow its learning path and begin your first Quest.

Understand how your learning is measured
Your Engagement Score reflects your participation and activity over time. Your Mastery Score reflects how consistently you demonstrate an understanding of the material.
Note: Some Analytics features are still coming soon, so the information available in that section may be limited.

Get help when you need it
Open the help and support widget by selecting the Authura icon in the bottom-right corner.
You can also visit the Getting Help section or replay the built-in onboarding tutorial for another guided tour of the platform.

Common Issues
I’m not sure whether to open a Course or a Playbook
Open the Course to access your class and its organized learning experience. The Playbook contains the Quests you complete.
I’m in a class but do not have an invitation
You cannot join the Course until your educator sends an invitation. Ask your educator to send or resend it.
Some profile features are unavailable
Open Settings and complete any remaining items in your Profile Checklist.
I cannot find the support widget
Select the Authura icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen. The widget does not open from the main navigation.
