Try This First
If you can’t join a Course, first check that you received the Course invitation email and that the link has not expired. Then confirm whether your enrollment request is still waiting for educator approval.
Most enrollment issues are caused by a missing invitation, an expired invitation or magic link, a pending approval, or registration being closed.
Common Causes
There are a few common reasons why a Course enrollment may not complete.
You Didn't Receive the Invitation
Joining a Course starts with either:
A Course invitation email
A direct Course link provided by your educator
If you never received either one, you won't be able to begin the enrollment process.
Invitation emails can sometimes be filtered into spam, junk, or other email folders.
The Invitation or Magic Link Has Expired
Both invitation links and Authura Magic Links are time-limited.
Magic Links are also single-use. If you requested multiple Magic Links, only the most recent one may work.
An expired link can prevent you from signing in, verifying your email, or continuing enrollment.
Your Email Hasn't Been Verified Yet
Authura uses a magic link sent to your email address to verify your identity and sign you in.
If you opened the invitation but never completed the Magic Link sign-in process, your enrollment may remain incomplete.
Enrollment Is Waiting for Educator Approval
After you request enrollment, Authura displays the following message:
Your request to enroll has been submitted
This means your request was received and is waiting for educator approval.
Until approval is granted, you cannot finish joining the Course.
Registration Is Closed
If registration has been closed by the educator, the enroll or register button will be unavailable.
In this situation, learners cannot join the Course until registration is reopened.
Important: Invitation links and magic links expire after a limited time. If your link no longer works, ask your educator to send a new invitation before trying again.
Things to Try
Work through these checks in order, starting with the quickest and most common fixes.
1. Look for the Invitation Email
Search your inbox for:
The Course invitation
"Your Authura Magic Link"
Your educator's name
Also check:
Spam
Junk
Promotions
Other filtered folders
If you still cannot find the invitation, contact your educator and ask them to send a new one.
2. Use the Most Recent Magic Link
If you requested more than one magic link, open the newest email and use that link.
Because magic links are single-use and expire shortly after being sent:
Older links may no longer work
Previously used links cannot be reused
Expired links must be replaced with a fresh one
Open the most recent magic link and select Continue to Authura as soon as possible.
3. Confirm Whether Your Enrollment Request Is Pending
If you already submitted your enrollment request, look for the confirmation banner.
If you see the message:
Your request to enroll has been submitted
your request is still waiting for educator approval.
At this stage, there is nothing else you need to do until your educator reviews the request.
4. Check With Your Educator About Approval
If you believe you've completed enrollment but the course isn't available yet, ask your educator to confirm:
Your enrollment request was received
Your request has been approved
Once approval is granted, you can complete the joining process and access the course.
5. Refresh Your Session After Approval
If your educator confirms approval but the course still isn't visible:
Refresh the page.
Sign out of Authura.
Request a new Magic Link.
Sign back in.
Check your Courses list again.
This refreshes your session and can help newly approved enrollments appear correctly.
6. Confirm Registration Is Open
If the enroll or register button is unavailable, registration may be closed.
Ask your educator whether registration is currently open for the Course.
If registration has been closed, only the educator can reopen it or provide a new enrollment option.
Tip: When you contact your educator, include the Course name and the email address you used for enrollment. This helps them verify your request more quickly.
Still Not Working
If you've:
Checked your inbox and spam folder
Used a fresh invitation or magic link
Completed the email verification process
Confirmed your educator has approved your request
Refreshed your session
and you still can't join the Course, contact your educator.
Include:
The Course name
The email address you're using
A description of what happens when you try to enroll
Any messages, banners, or unavailable buttons you see
Your educator can:
Send a new invitation
Confirm your approval status
Verify whether registration is open
Check that you're enrolling with the correct email address
